About US

Roland Imperial Tobacco (RITCO) Limited is part of the Sulmach Group of Companies. RITCO is a wholly owned Zambian indigenous company that was incorporated in 2001. The core activities of the company are manufacturing and distribution of cigarettes and other tobacco related products. The company is effectively administered via two autonomous divisions which are both headed by a General Manager. The two divisions are Manufacturing Division and Trading Division. The overall head of RITCO is the Executive Chairman who is also the Chief Executive Officer.

Our Team

Chairman and Founder

Dr Ephraim Mwenda is a Civil Engineer by profession, founded Roland Imperial Tobacco in 2001 and has chaired various private and public boards, including the state owned Tobacco Board of Zambia.

General Manager, Manufacturing Division

Mr. Aliport Ngoma is an Electrical Engineer by profession and Joined Roland Imperial Tobacco Company in 2013. He holds over 25 year’s cross functional experience at management level in the tobacco processing and cigarette making industry. He is an ex-employee of British American Tobacco and is a Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).

Operations Manager, Manufacturing Division

Mr. Mark Coleman joined Roland Imperial Tobacco Company in 2012. He is a Plant Engineer by profession and has over 30 years’ experience in the tobacco Processing and Cigarette Manufacturing Industry. He has worked for numerous tobacco multinational corporations including British American Tobacco and Rothmans International.
